A little advice would be appreciated

I wanted to order a pair of sunglasses from Next. I registered on their site. I thought it would just be a matter of keying in my Solo card but it turned out I had opened some sort of Flexible account.

I phoned them up and they closed it straight away, yet this morning the sunglasses were delivered! I haven't paid for them!?

So, erm, wtf has happened?

So you set up a credit account?

They will want the money eventually, even after closing the account. Thats kinda how credit works

How do I even go about paying the account? I'm not even 18 yet!

OK so they'll probably send a bill, but is there any chance the money will magically go out of my bank account. They can't phone my bank and I don't have a credit rating yet.

It would technically be there mistake. You've rang them and ask them to close the account.

no, unless u set up a direct debit with them. just wait 5 years and youll get a bill for £4000 of interest you owe them!

You'll be ok, under 18 can't get credit technically so noway you should be able to open an account with them. The sunglasses were sent out mistakenly i believe, just return it to the nearest NEXT and all is well.

I'd rather pay them tbh because I really like them. If a bill doesn't turn up within a week I'll give them a call.

If they were sent out mistakenly he should just keep them. After six months they become his, however, if they do ask for them back remember to make them pay the P&P.

My wife had this happen to her when she ordered from NEXT. It isn't clear at all that you are opening a credit account, she thought that it was just a case of ordering the item and paying for it there and then.

Give them a call Im sure they will sort it out with you.
