Its only 2nd hand but its a big upgrade from my 40D. Got a side grip but dont think I'm going to keep it.

Picture isn't straight, got some blown highlights and it would have been good if you'd stopped it down a bit more to keep it all in focus. Background a bit too busy too for my liking.

Funnily enough I just got a quote yesterday from Kerso for a 5D II and 17-40L. I'd be interested to see some results when you've had chance to have a proper go with it.

Yeah about that. I only focus on the most important part, the MarkII system

Just a side question really about the camera firmware. Its only on 2.0.4 and I'm looking to upgrade the Firmware. I googled this and came up with this link.

Looking from the link, its from Japan. Is it safe to upgrade it to this, or is there a specific European / UK firmware?

Would love to upgrade myself but I only have 1 FF lens and can't afford to change both lenses and camera

All my upgrades have been from the Canon JP website...can't say if that was the exact link though...I had a feeling the page was black when I downloaded mine...I got the link from dpreview.com

Googling for the firmware and the DPReview site brought up this link
