Oh ****, here it goes again

That or just stick it out and wait for new drivers which might not be that long a month or two, or try omega ones as they have a set out for the gts i believe.

Pfff just had a bsod in a new game: Sega rally revo.
This card is just borked, again, GRRRR for nvidia to give me 2 ******* destroyed cards, can't they test their products properly before they leave the factory grrrr stupid *****.

A very odd bsod tho, I was driving along, and my screen froze and any input was ignored, but I heard the car drove on and the co driver kept warning me for new corners, sound as normall just hearing a lot of bumps. Then 45 seconds after my sound also froze and my pc just bsod'd.

How can those stupid ******* of nvidia have such a deadfull quality controll, you buy 2 expensive ( for me anyhow) products and both are ****. Now I'm afraid that if they'll be smart enough to test it properly ( wich I doubt, the bsod's atm I get are very hard to get... :(), that they give me a 3rd borked card. How's the failure rate on the RED side? Might just get 2 3780's for crossfire instead as tired of Nvidia.

You might not get the 8800 gts g92 owners in here, as you didnt really make the title of your topic stand out about which card your having trouble with. Maybe make a new thread of get a moderator to change the title to something like "8800gts g92 owners, need help" or somit.

As the topic title is really important when you want help and frankly your title sucks lol to get ppl with them in here.

Also go with ** dad to the guy who you bought the card off originally and then later upgradeded to the new gts at the shop after the gt was a problem, go in with him and ** dad to the shop and make sure you get the warrenty switched to you, you will then get a new receipt with your name on (age nothing to do with it or if it is put it in ** dads name) and then you wont have a prob with getting it switched for a ati card, just say ** not happy with the bsod and all that crap and say you want the ati cards instead, you should be able to get them.

Longer you leave it the worse your going to get it when trying to get it switched to ati. Unless your willing to wait for stable drivers which imo is all thats needed for the gts i think there just bad driver sets last ones, so wait for a good driver update, but i know u hate waiting and wont wait for a month or two so therefor go get ** stuff sorted asap with the bloke with the warrenty and get somit u want that works off the bat.

I rekon new drivers are closer than you think, going by Nvidia's recent form, we'll have a set tomorrow, or some time next week, as they always lob a new set out when AMD release a card. :D

Skeet I doubt it's the drivers or else there'd be hundreds of users having trouble like me...
Will give retailer a call tomoz to ask about gigabtes rma, or try to switch it somehow, atm they've got an MSI GTS 512 and an XFX gts 512 in stock, not my gigabyte one...

If the drivers fix this I'd be amazed, but BSOD's in a lot of random games? Nah it's a card error I recon.
Besides, I dunno if I wana switch to ati, one 3780 is too slow, 2 3750's: I dunno, heavn't rly checked, and for 2 3780's I don't have enough money. The GTS suits me perfectly tbh, if only it'd work in everything GRRR.

If possible I'm going to take my pc and show them the BSOD myself.
If they say it's something with the rest of my pc I'll demand then to show me what.

Well since you told me today that theres loads of irq conflicts i.e loads of things sharing same irq as ** card, then the bsod can be the reason cos of them. As we discussed on xfire sort ** cmos out at earliest oppertunity and hope irqs are sorted with the clearing of cmos.

Duno if u have to take ** card out while ** clearing cmos tho but i doubt ud need to.

I assume ** = u r ? :p
Yeah yeah yeah I'll try to clear my cmos...

For the info of others:

I've noticed my 8800 shares the irq with other stuff:

And I've read this on another forum :

5: IRQ Conflicts
Cause:
Windows is ********, Plug and Play Bios are *******, and seems none of them can figure out that putting a MONSTER in a jail cell with a puny man both sharing the same toilet, wont end up nicely.
How to fix":
1:Reset your BIOS to clear the PnP PCI IRQ assignment tables and force it to reassign new ones.
2:Change the "Offending" card from slot and pray it gets assigned a new IRQ (im saying offending because HOW DARE HE use up the 8800's personal IRQ, its blasphemy)
3:Slap it into the last PCI slot, with luck your board is one of those "Last PCI slot has no IRQ set or will get a personal IRQ" and youll be in buisness.
3isable it. Give up, The 8800 is to powerfull, what ever is sharing the interrupt with the 8800 has to die, Disable it and let Ms 8800 have its own IRQ at the cost of killing what ever else was there in the first place, if you dont like this you can thank Mr Bill Gates for it.
Extra info on the Problem:
I wonder when SOMEONE will come up with a MANUAL way to set interrupts instead of this Jack-in-the-Box rat suprize way of doing it. (NO, the "Properties" way of doing it stopped working back in 1998 and ISA card slots, in case you hadnt noticed so please stop saying theres a "way" to manually set interrupts when there CLEARLY isnt, if there was one i think wed know about it already and wouldnt be asking for one)

Remember nvidia drivers come out in american time so over there its about 11am so still plenty of time to release. I think personally it will be their midnight it will come out.

Bah did everything the nvidia support guys asked me.
I cleared cmos.
I did some bios changes.
I removed ntune.
I've switched the pcie cables.

etectc.
Just tried M2:TW: Crash.

Going to try it in my dads pc later today, if it appears borked, then I suppose I'll finally RMA it.

Try my idea as well before you rite it off, 1. wait for drivers 2. try putting the card in other pcie slot then clear cmos then swap it back to 16x speed one and hopefully it might change the irqs around enough to help.

So 4 days have passed and I got a reply from gigabyte.

My post to them :

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10979703&postcount=15

I've still been to lazy to try it in another pc, and to try the games that used to crash, on these new drivers ( I updated to 169.32), but just wanted to share the pathetic Gigabyte ''me not speak very good engrish and I ignore most of your questions'' reply ( not to mention I've waited ages for it, nvidia responded to me within 2 hours usually):

Gigabyte service said:
Hello,

As to your issue, please note that the VGA FAN spins sometimes fast, and sometimes slow. This is normal. When VGA temperature rises, VGA FAN will spin fast. On the other hand, VGA FAN will spin slow.
Please, to try with other power supply, and also please use the latest Bios version for your MB.
Thanks!

Best Regards,

Bah stupid Gigabyte, my advice is avoid the company at all costs as the service is utter rubbish, get a good brand instead. Just thought I'd share what incompetent fools Gigabyte has.

Yes, but I am, not with black & white 2 or sega rally revo though, yet they 2 also bsod.
I fail to see how a no cd would affect it though, considering I've been playing it on my 6800GS sometimes for 3 hours at a time, while now it bsod's within 10 mins.

Just a hunch regards Medieval 2. I know for a fact that the nocd patch causes all sorts of weird and wonderful problems, including BSOD's and crashes in game. Are you using them with the other games too? Just something else to consider. Failing that, try a format.
