What it looks like to me is that the R600 is infact complete, but there wanting to deploy other products at the release, most likely a new MB Chipset and physics card's and offer them as one package, or somthing along these lines.
This delay is almost certainly technical, not strategic. When your competitor has a product that is kicking your butt (you don't think the x1950xt's sudden move to AGP is a coincidence do you?) you don't delay your new product unless you've got no choice.

It's also worrying that the delay appears to be so unbounded. It's delayed until some unspecified time in Q2. If it was just a question of needing enough inventory to hard launch then they would have a reasonably good idea how long it would take to build suitable numbers, and they could have set a new launch date. But they haven't. :mad:

Erm.. Q2 mean it will be release from end of June -- between begin of July to end of Sept... once Ati release on date then supply to other graphic card firms to make thier own card and then supplies to online or high street store in few weeks later or even months -- still think ATi still release the R600 in the middle of this summer rather than between April-May.

I already used Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX XXX (2Ghz with 768MB)-- seem nice board and already using 100.65 WHQL driver, still happy with it. :)

looks like r600 will be out around the same time as G90. in which case r600 better have a lot more under the hood than what the current rumours say it has.

i thought q2 meant may-august
but this may be bad for ati if they know its not as powerful as they first asumed

Surely Q2 is April - June.
12 months in a year, 4 x 3 = 12
Q1 = Jan - Mar
Q2 = April - June
Q3 = July - Sep
Q4 = Oct - Dec

Am i right here or do they work the year out differently?

Q2 would be April to June. They were previously promising a Q1 release with a launch date of late March (i.e. the last week or two of the calendar Q1).

Nvidia's next lot of cards the 89's will be out before these, man how far behind can they go. :D

Yea and the 89 "Driver Tweak" is really going to wipe the floor anyway :D , they promised a "Driver Tweak" but the tweak won't be out until 6 month's after the 89 launch given NV's track record :D.
