Recently upgraded my computer from a e8600@4ghz with 4gb 800mhz memory to an I7 920@4ghz (well just short) with 6gb of memory. Also went from one cooling loop to two and added loads of shiny new waterblock in the process!

Here is some of the new components in boxes and being put together

Idle screen shot

and burn test!!

80 degress is pretty high for water cooling I admit but its not that bad for 8 threads of prime 95 and Fur Mark at the same time! GPU temps are fine and everything is stable. In Reality the CPU wont get this hot in use and I still think I can drop the CPU voltage a few notches and keep stability... just have to find some time to have a play

This is a really nice motherboard, its good to see the ide was dumped and all expansion slots be pcix, if gigabyte bring 1 out like this I will want it for my next rig.
Bad temps thou, but yeah real world apps don't try to kill your gear like stress test apps do :D and if it is all nice and stable while running prime and fur mark at the same time then that is definately good.

Gigabyte is my personal favourite motherboard manufaturer even thou they don't have an official forum, every gigabyte board I have had has been great all round, with asus boards I have some sort of problem with every asus board I have owned which is strange considering the price of them.

One of the main reason i went for the Revo board was the lack of any legacy ports. Still it does not have any firewire capability which is not really legacy! But no biggie as I dont need firewire.

played around with it a bit... upped the BLCK to 191, dropped the voltage a few notches and turned off Hyper Threading (HT) now runs 3-5 degrees hotter at idle but 10 - 15 degrees cooler under load!

running Furmark at the same time does not affect the CPU only warms up the GPU aswell!

That windows 7 rating for your cpu seems low, I would have thought and i7 clocked at 4ghz would be highest score possible?

Seems odd that my Q9550 is only .2 behind yours (in score and clock speed I just noticed haha) :p

For those of you that are wondering what the Overclockers EK waterblock and backplate pre fitted gtx 480's look like installed, stay tuned for an updated build log with one installed in my system (and I have tidied up the tubing a lot with new 1/2 tubing and new shiny compression fittings) My 480 is the nickel plated one (inc backplate) and looks great I think. Pics to follow this week coming....

Pllleaaseee remove the wiro-bound stuff from the tubing, looks so 2007. :(

Other than that, love it! Lovely work. :D

Aesthetically, it's a shame the board has brownish PCB :D

And it'd look a lot better with a bit of cable management, for example; running cables behind the motherboard tray.

Other than that, sweet case :)
