CPU fan mounting bracket broken

So I was playing through FEAR again, and my comp decided to turn its self off. Hmm, currently in the middle of a thunderstorm here so wondered if that was something to do with it. Tried to start up again and it once more shut down. Ah wonder if its over heating, so a quick check in the bios and my cpu temp is 86 and rising :eek:

Turned it off, opened the case, and my freezer 64 pro is loose??
How the hell has that happened i wonder, upon closer inspection 2 of the 3 plastic hooks on one side which the fan/heatsink connects too have broken off. Not a clue how that has happened?
Anyway in short can you get replacement plastic rack thing anywhere?
Also has this happened to anyone else. Seems odd that it would just break one day.

Try contacting asus, they might send you out a replacement.

Unfortunalty asus don't supply replacements.

And other ideas?
Seems a waste to buy a whole new board just for this.
Not to mention the fact that there don't seem to be many agp ones about.

The retention brackets are stocked in a few places, you can usually buy them off a well known auction site too, unfortunately can't link anywhere.

You could try phoning up the shop and seeing if they can help you out?

I recall a thread here where the clips broke for someone else, I'll see if I can find it.
