Oh noes! GO 7900GTX dying again?

I was playing Serious Sam 2 yesterday when all of a sudden, for the first time my m1710 crashed. (to desktop)

I started to experience corruption even on video clips so i decided to uninstall, clean out and reinstall the drivers, 84.96. These have been 100% stable in every game I have tried on here so far since I bought this machine.

Fired up css to test to see if it was working and....









Confused as to why the last two at that res but they are all 1920x1200 screenshots.

Time to call up dell and ask for a replacement....again?

man its common knowledge here that the 79 series cards are masters of failure rates. not surprised at this one dying the same death.

so the fact that this is a laptop graphics card that doesn't use the same core, vrm's, memory or voltages to the 7900 series deskop cards that died still means that it is part of the range that did suffer the problems?

at least we confirmed it is dying though.

Man am i glad i took out the extra 4 year hardware warranty on this thing.....

if its a 79 series its bound to get borked sometime. don;t matter where its at. its a bork-o-holic.
