The catalogue number on the box is a receipt in itself.

Theoretically you don't need an actual receipt... proof of purchase, e.g. credit card statement, is supposed to sufficient. They should then be able to cross-reference the date/time stamps to confirm that a Wii was sold using that card on that date at that time, etc...

Good luck explaining this to the employee you speak to though.

thats the problem paid cash ,

box has a argos number stuck on it but not holding my breath

gonna try calling ninty tommorow and chance my arm ;)

i've got the marmalady disc out it just and ran a cleaning cd thru it but on closer inspection theres something rattling inside my poor wii

Give Nintendo UK a phone and ask them how much it would be for them to repair it.

They do this for people in the US at very good rates so i don't see why they would be any different here.
In some cases they have fixed things in 20mins whilst people have waited!

quick update phoned ninty no problemo getting it sorted, just pop it in the post addressed to the wii department :)

Nintendo have been amazing with me when dealing with console replacements. Sony and MS could learn a hell of a lot from them.

my girlfriend have taken things back to argos before, without the reciept and they have replaced it no problem

Stick some bread in it, a lump of butter, leave it on for 3 mins and out should pop a tasty breakfast snack. Your Wii should be fine afterwards.

But don't blame me if it isn't
