Arghhhhhhhh,

Ordered a dell studio 15 on the 26th of Oct. I was given an estimated delivery date of 4th November. Today the delivery date has changed to the 11th November!! I didn't even get an email saying "delivery has been moved by a week, we suck, big style, sorry."
Does anyone have any idea why this has changed? I heard a rumour that the i7 chip is in short supply and Im wondering if that's it. Where are the laptops assembled these days?

Anyone else ordered through dell have any horror stories? (Mine's hardly a horror story I'm just disappointed.)

Grrrr!

They're generally very pessimistic on delivery date - I'd imagine you'll still get it around the 4th.

I know how you feel.

I ordered Dell Studio 17 on the 30th October and they've given me a delivery date of 2nd December.

It hasn't been customised in any way and it's going to take over a month to deliver a standard laptop. Very dissapointed.

I ordered a Studio XPS 16 on 30th September. The EDD got put back from 14th Oct to 5th Nov. However the order status changed to phase 5 - delivery on the 23rd, so I thought I might get it earlier than the 5th.

No such luck though. On the courier's tracking site the last entry is....
23/10/09 23:30 CHINA DEPARTED MANU.FACILITY

Starting to think that it has been lost in transit. Neither Dell or Walsh Western customer services are being that helpful. WW keep saying they are waiting for Dell to "sign off" the consignment. Dell are just saying it is still in transit.
