After three years, i think ive had enough of my systems little issues and desire a change. However the scene is somewhat different nowadays, with the rise in ITX popularity. I dont quite know if this is viable for me or not, but the size such a system would be a relief (coming from an antec 1200... :p).

However if i desire SLI or Xfire, i dont know if i can really achieve that with a small system.

Either way, id like it to come around the £1k mark, including a good Full HD monitor (I have no idea what constitutes good with regards to them, so may as as well ask).

Seeing as it's 3 years old, do you have spare RAM, PSU etc? HDD? Optical Drive? What's re-usable basically

Then I guess you can upgrade to a GTX770/R9 280X etc if you remove the SSD+ODD form the spec I did.

Im guessing there's very little difference between the 770 and 280x?

Though to be honest, i've had Nvidia exclusively for quite some time, so a change may be interesting. As a side note, i have had my sound card (an early Xonar one) for quite awhile as well, it still seems to work, don't know if i should do anything with it...though the on board sound for the G1 sniper seems to actually be quite good if something were to happen anyway...

I see, ah well i guess a change of scenery would be nice.

I'm guessing an ITX system is rather restrictive for what i want (eventually), considering what's been suggested? (just curious)

Fair enough, also i just remembered what my CPU cooler was, theres only a 1-2cm clearance from the antec 1200 wall, it is the Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850 RPM - 3 Pin.

I imagine i might have to shift to a new one, but i don't know.

Edit: It would seem that the prodigy is in fact fatter on the width, so i guess not. 213mm for 1200 and 250 for the prodigy.

The scythe is a fan, do you know what the actual cooler is? or if it fits socket 1155+1156 which are identical to 1150.

I have a few questions regarding this again.

If perhaps i was to eventually get a good quality headphone, that may need powering, would an external (to the motherboard) card be wise?

Since i already have an old gen Xonar, but i believe it is/was the lowest spec available, i just wonder if its worth also upgrading this?

As an addition i have decided to put off my Monitor Upgrade for a later date, as i am unsure if one can really fit Two Custom cooled GPUs aswell as a soundcard...so.

Same pricing, simply wondering whether i should put it up to a 290 or 780 as standalone with a soundcard or forgo it completely.

As above, the Sniper has an amplified jack for headphones which can deal with impedances upto 600Ω

I have the Bitfenix Phenom very similar to the prodigy I have to admit it gets rather loud while gaming as the heat has nowhere to go but because you have the prodigy and as it has a bit of a vent at the side I would reckon it should be OK.

I'm just concerned about the bottom exhaust really, is there a more proficient way to move air in the case, or will this require body modding?
