Hi all Having issues with a ohme charger only charges at 3.8kw not 7.4 ohme are saying it's a ct clamp fault but just wondering if it can be used without it???

Yes I have heard of the CT clamp halving the charging rate. I believe it's quite a simple fix, what's stopping you from attempting it yourself?

Yep, more than likely has load balancing turned on but not getting any reading from the CT clamp so it defaults to an assumed safe setting and will charge at 16A max

Can still be used but will charge slower than it's capable of, so it's worth getting it sorted

Quite often it's as simple as the installer putting the clamp on the wrong cable

just for interest, are you chargiung overnight on a schedule?
as i think if you are it'll often just power the charge at half power, to protetc battery from overcharge etc
so if it knows it has until 6am to charge it'll do it slower over a longer time
so the app might just show half loading, especially if dynamic charging is set?

pretty sure mine does this

Just defaults as issues with ct clamp I think the charger needs changing to disable it but don't know how to...
