It's now around 3 years since we moved in, and i've never done anything with the front door, knowing the previous owners i imagine they also neglected it!

Since we've had the Porch rendered it felt a good time to give the door some love.

It's an open/enclosed porch so the door isn't overly exposed to Sunlight

Here's a few picures. Need to get whatever that black mark is by the knocker off, and then near the bottom is looking like it's seen better days.

I do have a bottle of Danish oil that's leftover from an old project or do i buy something from Osmo like this?

Presume the process is just, light sand with 180grit and then rub the oil on with a cloth and wipe off the excess?

I have never used Osmo on an external door but certainly it is the absolute best on internal doors. The finish is far better than most standard oils. What is particularly good about it is the uniformity of finish with a minimal number of coats. However the one thing you need to be careful of is to follow the instructions on the tin to the letter. The worst thing you can do is over-apply it.It's not like a standard oil in "the more coats the better". A standard oil is usually much more tolerant of over application, in fact some you almost soak the wood in the oil for as long as possible to get the even finish.
