I decided that as i spend so many hours on this machine that it makes sense to up the budget from £500

I decided to go quad core which would leave me with the q9550 but ive decided to spend the extra £100 and go for corei7

Main reasons being speed with multithreaded apps, and future proofing as in 12 months i can just buy a faster chip.

i decided on a £900 budget as this would enable me to upgrade to a better psu, upgrade my case, and a few other things.

Current spec:

Core i7 920 do stepping £216
asus p6t motherboard £170
6gb ocz gold £63
asus 1gb 4870 dark knight (on offer) £120
corsair 650watt psu (on offer) £74
antec 300 case £45
zalman silent 120mm fan £7
pioneer 22x dvd rw £17
fenrir cpu cooler £34
sammy spinpoint 320gb £39

now total cost is £800 delivered which gives me about 100-200 to spend on a monitor, and i was thinking of getting the dell 22" ultrasharp at £200

This means in total ive pretty much doubled my budget, but to me it makes sense as im on this pc for about 8 hours min a day, and up to 16 hours a day on busy weeks where i have tight deadlines etc.

Should i change anything in this build?

I went with a lower spec hdd to save me some cash as im thinking when i have to buy windows 7 at the end of the year i could upgrade to ssd at the same time then use the 320gb as a backup.

now even though its on offer is it worth me spending the extra on the 1gb graphics even though i dont really play games? i mianly work in 2d apps like cs4 with maybe the odd bit of gaming...
my origional plan was this one :

sorry for all the questions etc, i just want to make sure i get it all right this time! :)

if you dont plan on increasing the amount of gaming you do, and dont want to play at high resolutions (1920x1280 etc) then the 4850 will do fine.

right sod it. its done.

im sweating! lol
