ok getting new case monday and stripping the old one down and putting it in the new case.

few things really
should i buy a anti static bracelet as i have to take the psu out to get the mobo out (it's a very small MATX case)

whats the best thing to put the components on after i have removed them
i don't have a anti static mat

putting it in the new case should be fine as the psu can go in first

Dont bother buying a band, just look at all the anti static threads on here. you can put the motherboard on a box is what i use, but anything that dont conduct :)

Touch a bare metal water pipe often is what I did. Should ground you enough.

Lay the components you take out on any spare anti-static bas you may have accumalated.

I think wrist straps are a waste of money, I've buils loads of PC's over the years and (touches wood) never had a problem.

Just make sure you handle anything by the edges if you can.

You will get away without a wrist strap, touch some bare metal on a radiator to eath yourself, dont manhandle the compnants and put them on cardboard or antistatic bags and you will be fine.
