ok so,
- this comes with a remote
- its a big, 3.5" touch screen that users say is very visable
- plays damn near everythign (at a decent framerate for video - 720 X 480, 30 fps is supported)
- its got usb-otg, so i can plug my fuji camera in and transer the files over, using it as a storage device.
- it has 35wm per channel
- 7 hours playback for movies on the standard batter, so music is more..... 12 hours movie playback with the larger battery
- it has spdif, and outputs dd5.1&DTS over the spdif
- it has tv out

god the list goes on. anyway, guys you tell me honestly, what is there to hold me back from getting one over an x5l or a vision:m, because this unit is looking absolutely stonking

Flamin heck, that thing is lovely. Sod the price tbh, it's feature packed. Got that url above bookmarked to read tommorow as I'm heading off to sleep now.

I'm in the market for a H10 replacement, and have been looking at the Vision:M for a while now as theres no high capacity iriver U10/Clix atm. That istation does look too good to be true though, theres got to be some cons about it :)

I don't like the battery life, but then again it is powering a large screen as well.

ive just ordered it;) only con as far as i can see is that there's little in the way of firmware support for it now. Sounds like the company are pretty much like iriver in that respect - release a new product and forget the older products ever existed. i believe there arent many issues left to fix on the device, if any. but ill be able to tell you soon in about two days hopefully:)

video, DD/DTS, 35w/m per channel (twice the output of our h10's kainz), 30gb storage and touchscreen. had me sold. I got the high capacity battery with it aswell

Had this unit for a while now - Extended battery - absolutely - watched 2 films [3 hrs approx] - on 45 % brightness -
and 45 mins of music -
not even one bar came of the battery display.

im guess that's pretty good then

cant wait:D

I don't like the battery life, but then again it is powering a large screen as well.
well, 7 hours movie playback (standard battery, 12 on the extended) isn't bad, not when the zen is rated for 4 hours.

Looks damn good to me. Puts my Archos AV7100 to shame in supported formats (I do wish the Archos at least supported ogg), but I win back a few points with a 7" screen and 100GB disk. :D

You show off :D im getting impatient, i want it now lol. still, they just emailed me and told me its been shipped, so its on course for tomorrow morn:)

here's a pic of all the kit that comes with it:

istation3_allthekit.jpg

  • pc software cd, incluiding conversion software
  • instructions on using the software (instructions for the player on the cd)
  • the wired remote control
  • cleaning cloth
  • carry pouch
  • the standard battery
  • the player
  • usb cable
  • s-video output cable
  • 2 sets of earphones, one with a straight jack the other with a right-angled jack (why 2 sets....i dont know)
  • covers for the earphones
  • usb host cable, for plugging in cameras ect
  • wireless remote

after a few hours use, i can say this player is very good indeed. its not perfect, but i expected as much. There are little niggles, such as there being no user-definable eq, but its minor - the sound quality more than makes up for it.

first impressions of video playback are very good. They load in 5-6 seconds with the latest firmware. its nice and smooth, the detail is is good and the screen is nice and bright after adjusting the factory settings.

Build is good, though i wouldnt pay the £34-odd rrp that the wired remote commands, its feels far to cheep - good job it came free with the player.

i'll have a better in-depth review up son. stay tuned folks.

the first thing you should do lol
