Hi, there im concered i may have not mounted my watercooler 100% correctly

or used a little to much paste!

method i used: i aplied 2cm vertical line of cpu paste (AS5) and also skimed

the h50 with a 0.5/1mm layer as well.

my watercooler is the corsair H50 & my cpu is a i7 920 @ stock settings

these are the values i get using Realtemp sensor test along with prime95.

in your experiance how do you think tempreture values compare rembering my

i7 is stock, the room tempreture was about 21/22degree c

the highest i have seen the temp go is 68 on a single core with speedfan

whilst encoding a bluray with handbrake.
(all cores were at 100% for over 4 hours)

for a H50 it does seem a little high but let the paste cure first. Also run core temp to check temps and use some software called prime to really stress the CPU to get accurate readings when under load.

what is the rest of the case airflow like?

hi that was using prime95 and using realtemp sensor test to get the results u see can any one else comment?

how much paste should i use any tips advice or youtube link for correct procedure for applying AS5 to the H50

Ah ok its just you mentioned that it was while encoding a blu ray thats all.

Still no comment on your air flow in the case? If your putting hot air into the H50's rad then its not going to cool effectivly?

Hi m8, l'll say you used to much paste  > this can give you high temp's.

**method i used: i aplied 2cm vertical line of cpu paste (AS5) and also skimed the h50 with a 0.5/1mm layer as well.**

Why did you not just use the pre-applied paste on the H50(MX2), when l reseated my H50 l just put a spot of paste in the middle of the CPU, about the size of a small baby pea. Then tightened the screw's down the correct way > corner to corner < about 1/2 too 3/4 turn on each screw till it gets finger tight.

Check temp's on core's to see how high and how even they are, if need be you can tighten the screws just a small fraction more, do not over tighten as you will strip the screw insert's.

Download Core temp for checking your temp's on the cores ;) -
