so i can use my other drives as raid or will it affect the ahci install thanks...also what should i install now first before i start installing all my drivers thanks.
Are you using the same SATA controller for the SSD as you intend to use for the raid array?
If so then changing its mode to RAID will prevent Windows from booting because a different driver is required for RAID mode (the Intel RAID driver includes AHCI functionality). If the SSD is on a different controller then you'll be OK to proceed.
ahhh so i need to use the jmicron controller for raid or should i reinstall windows again with the raid controller on or does this affect the running of the ssd?
I'd have a check about things like TRIM on the SSD when using the controller in RAID mode but if that sort of thing still works I'd reinstall and use the Intel controller for everything, it's better than the JMicron one.
yeah done that checked trim its working....just trying to workout what i need to install for the ssd before i start all my drivers...is there anything else i need to install from intel or anywhere thanks.
