ok need some bits but what bits

i want to run a network cable from downstairs to upstairs and have the proper wall sockets installed.

NO wireless isn't an option as i want to use pc upstairs as main gamming pc and wireless drop outs are a big no no.

so what are they called the wall sockets and where do i buy them.
what type of cable is it pacth or cross over around 15m of it

You want RJ45 wall sockets. Any Cat5-E cable should do the trick for the cable. I assume you already have the necessary networking equipment.

i plan on leaving my router plugged in downstairs where it is ( downstairs/back of house) and running cable outside and back in (upstairs/front of house)


phoneline --->DSL ROUTER ------> socket <------->socket -------->PC

look ok? normal cat5 or crossover?

yer looks very good but before I order what about latency for online gamming? does it effect it if so buy how much?
