I was thinking of either getting a 7970 or 7950. I have a couple of questions though,

1) Is there any difference on the ghz 7970 appart from clocks. Should i consider it I suppose.

2) I have two dvi monitors how will i hook it up do i need a adapter to dvi or use a splitter.

3) Any makes I should avoid.

4) I am running an i7 at 3.8 ghz with a gtx 295. Is this a worth while upgrade.

5) Should i consider a nvida card over the choices above.

Cheers :)

Only a 5-7% differnece between a 7950 and 7970 at the most. Apart from the MSI Reference one perhaps as that clocks very well.

You will need an adapter like Mini-DP to DVI etc

I would personally avoid Saphire because of RMA

Are you happy with your current card at whatever resolution your running.

Nvidia is more expensive for the same performance this gen. Only go for Nvidia if you want PhysX or CUDA cores.

Hope I've helped a bit :)

Thanks for the reply :)

I think I am starting to see the age I suppose I dont like not being able to turn on some bells and whistles even in old titles it's not smooth...

For example i reloaded dragon age 1 last night and with top AA it can be a bit slow at times.

Think I might plump for 7950 but hard sometimes to talk myself down :)

okk....

Right pretty settled on getting the card what adapters should i buy i read that if i used the dvi and than put a minidisplay port adapater on it would require to be active one ? Would this work better with two adapters ?

Cheers,
