Hi guys
Got one of these for my son going to uni next week - tried to fit a 8800GT (Leadteck) for him - it worked work a while.
Just long enough to load all the machines OS new XP Pro + drivers and play 1 quick game of Medevil 2 that does 60 fps for about 10 sec then 1-2 fps for 5 sec -
so I thought
Ahhh - OcUK supplied wrong mem - 5400 instead of 6400 - they replace V quick excelant service.
Booted with new ram - bril - ME2 does 1 min on 60fps and then 20 sec on 1-2 fps
Um - DEBUG TIME - take stick of RAM out - (just to start eliminating things) - Machine won't post - strange
Swapped RAM sticks - machine won't post
Took GT card out and pluged into onboard VGA - Machine won't post
Reset the BIOS back to factory (Battery out etc...) - Ah machine posts and uses VGA
Put GT back in - machine won't post
Took GT out - reset BIOS - put GT in - Ah posts but no output from GT
I think two things are wrong
1. GT card has failed
2. GT card in failing has taken MOBO with it
Every time I switch on the BIOS need reseting - not a good thing for my son to be doing
Any suggestions before I send MOBO and GT card to land of RMA (That will be the whole machine [bar the case])
Thanks
