Hi @ all.

ok my Rig is as follows,

AMD Athlon X2 4200+
Gigabyte, Dono, Skt 939 SLI motherboard.
3GB Geil Dual Channel RAM
Sapphire ATI Radion X1950 XTX Toxic Slave Edition
Samsung spinpoint SATA II 160gb IN RAID 0 x2
Samsung DVD-ROM
Samsung DVD-RW
BIOS Revision F4
OCZ600W PSU SLI Compliant
Artic Frezzer Pro 64.

Now the issue is this, if i Clear the CMOS, and then reset the basic settings, I have no problems Booting the computer, I mean it POST checks, finds the RAM, Finds the CPU and tells me the FSB, Finds the DVD drives, and then finds the RAID array.

Now if i overclock the FSB by about 5mhz no problem, then 5mhz on top of that no problem, after i have pushed the FSB to about 220mhz, i start to have a problem.

when the computer boots, it post checks, Finds the CPU, the RAM and then alerts me to the fact that the FSB has been increased, and warns me to press Del before next overclock, but then, before it finds the IDE DVD drives, it restarts and Post checks again, same all over again, ect untill it actualy says Detecting IDE drives, and then once it does that it moves on to actualy Find the Raid Array and then loads windows, but this is strange surly when i overclock it shouldnt let this happen.
So any one have any ideas why this is happening? if so, can you give me some advice!???

thanks in advance.

OK, that didnt make sence im new to this overclocking Business, i left the memory at AUTO, but its GEIL Value RAM so what are the Timeings?

what do you mean about the Vcore voltage ect? what settings?

The first thing I'd do is go looking for the HT (Hyper Transport) multiplier. and lower this to 4x.

Try and keep FSB x HT below 1000.

VCore will be the voltage running through the CPU, this will increase the heat output from the processor so be careful raising this too high.

Unsure of the memory timings for your memory, might be able to find them on the Geil website if you look? But normally the higher FSB you put through the chips you'll either need to put the memory on a divider or loosen the timings.

Yea lol, just not sure where to look for the HT multiplyer, lol, and heat? well thats why i got the Artic Frezzer Pro! lol, Keeps it really cool.

The computer eventualy loads up to windows after being pushed past the 225Mhz or so, but it restarts and restarts about 10 times. but then its all good.

well if i get back to my flat tonight ill have a look.
