Ok, small problem, but one that's annoying the **** of me !, CPU isn't downlocking anymore, its staying pegged at 4.5ghz ( 7700K ), its still sitting at 29-30 degrees so its not like its being used, but I can't for the life of me find whats causing it other than the Vive .

My CPU clocks down fine with the Rift attached, cant see it being any different for the Vive.

Def got Balanced option selected in Power Settings?

I had that problem on my Sandy Bridge board (not Vive related though), and it turned out to be a problem between Win 10 and me not updating the bios since I originally bought it. Once bios update later and problem solved, so that could be worth a shot if you're running an old MB.

Check if your pc is in performance mode in power savings. I found the rift was changing my power savings from balanced to performance. Sometimes when i turned off the rift, my pc would be stuck in performance and i had to change back to manual. Now it happens automatically.

And we have a winner, The Vive had somehow changed the power settings, ******* thing lol, all good was changed, cheers for the replies, must be getting old and missing the simple stuff lol
