OK, so last night I managed to install Ubuntu Server Edition (with Gnome GUI) installed afterwards.
At the moment, I only have the single disk (until I add 2 x SATA drives in RAID).
Im abit of a linux noob, so would like a guide or some info on how to configure it after install and tweak it so its running how I need.
As mentioned in my other thread, it will be used for:
File Server/NAS/Network Backup Solution/Media Streaming and more.
Straight after install, and after the Gnome GUI has been installed, whats the best method to get everything up and running perfectly? what are "Essentials"?
My 80GB disk at the moment has a 40GB partition which the OS is installed on and another 40GB volume which hasnt been set-up/formatted, how do I create a new volume and and use the rest of my disk capacity up at this moment?
Any info would help, any guides you reccomend brilliant
Think my mission later is get used to the OS, iv learnt a few commands already, need to install VNC to get to it remotely.
