Ok, so old console question

We all know that the saturn was better in 2d, and the PS1 was better in 3d right?

Well, I am curious, how much more powerful was the PS2 than the Dreamcast? I have heard rumors of about 70 percent more powerful? and how much more powerful is the cube to the PS2, and the xbox to the cube? I am just curious tis all... not a "my console is better than yours" thing... since I own them all :)
 
Seriously it's not a question of "More powerful". They all have totally different methods of doing things, the cube being the worst, then PS2, than Xbox. That's a big generalisation, there are many sistuations where a cube could do stuff better than an xbox for example. This is why it's best to just stay out of the spec debate.
 
I always thought that the cube was the second most powerful console though?

I understand each console handled things in a different way, but there are basic ways of comparing?

How much difference is there?

I have read the cube is about 50 percent more powerful than the PS2, and the xbox about 50 percent more than the cube, but the cube is better in somethings that the XBOX, so that percentage can drop?
 
its been a long time since ive looked into this, iirc the only thing i can recall is the gamecube had 733mhz processor, but this probs was the xbox tbh

but as proven by boomAM in the other thread the ps2 imo was significantly weaker at some features, such as dynamic lighting etc, this is all imo and not based on any tech sheets etc
 
If I remember correctly:

Xbox had a 733MHZ CPU, 64MB ram, Nvidia Geforce 3 type of thing.
Cube, 450MHZ, 48MB ram. God knows the rest?
PS2, 297MHZ CPU, 32MB ram. I dont know the rest, but I did hear the graphic card sucked?

Generally the cube absolutely trounced the PS2.
