Ok so I have no idea what has happened/gone wrong.

Replaced RAM and added a new SSD (M4) and proceeded with what should have been a routine format of the old HDD and M4 and a fresh install of Windows 7 on the M4.

After BSODs and failing installations for a good while yesterday I finally got Windows 7 installed on the M4 and thought that was the end of my troubles... not to be the case.

Windows updater has been continually freezing all morning. Note windows isn't locking out it would just stop mid installation of x number of updates. It wouldn't stop or anything so forcing me to restart the computer. This happened numerous occasions and now it appears that I have no "My Documents/Pictures/Music/Videos" folders anymore. I click them and get the following error message:

"Documents.library-ms" is no longer working

The library can safely be deleted from your computer.
Folders that have been included will not be affected.

Is my Windows install basically FUBAR?

Try updating the firmware of the SSD, however before you do that try the old memory only and see if the issue still persists.

Once you have tried both those things, it may be something else...

I had these sort of problems myself with BSODs, updates failing etc. I checked the RAM with the Windows tool. The RAM failed the tests. This was with two complete builds, both identical, all new parts. I spoke to OCUK regarding the RAM issue, it was suggested the RAM wasn't properly compatible with the AMD CPU. I RMA'd the RAM and fitted new, all worked spot on. I'm not sure why the original RAM didn't work properly, the new RAM was the same size and speed etc

It seems for whatever reason my install of Windows had just gone horribly wrong. Did a fresh format this morning and started again and now 0 problems or BSODs and didn't change any of the hardware.
