C2D and Pentium Dual Core?

ok here's the thing, P4D have a faster clock speed past 3Ghz, and the C2D have not even "officaly" as is not overclocked past the 3Ghz.

Im NOT gonna ask what one would be best because you will all say C2D but why? i mean its slower, but has a larger cache, is that why? because of the larger cache??

Its all down to efficiency.

Basically the P4D needs more cycles (thus higher clocks) to do the same work as a Core2Duo.
