ok to delete Windows.old file?

I have about 15-20gb taken up in my SSD with a file called Windows.old after my upgrade to Windows 8.

Is this file ok to delete, using the disk cleanup option?

If you're not planning to roll back to Windows 7, then yes, delete it

yes. delete away.

even if you were going to go back to 7 its not really that helpful as 99% of people would just do a clean install of 7 and then transfer files across.

If you're struggling to delete this on windows 8 due to administrator permissions, then use the disk cleanup functions and select old windows backup files ( or something like)

and it will delete it for you - as sometimes its too big for recycle bin.
