Ok to use old gpu in new rig

Hi guys is it okay to use a temp gpu 2900xt until I order dual 980 tis?? Just for browsing and basic stuff? Could this damaged the x99 board or anything ?

It won't damage the motherboard, you'll be fine.

I would just use your on board graphics instead of installing it if you are just going to do basic stuff...seems a waste of time

Won't damage it but if you have onboard that will be more than enough for what you require till you get your 980ti's.

Saves having to mess around with driver install / unistall.

I'd tell this chap you can't do anything till he buys a new psu so you can boot up and look at it for him (installation of new psu is free)
