People are leaving adult books in a village phone box and the parish council isn’t impressed

A Hampshire parish council has pleaded with local residents not to leave “salacious adult literature” in its telephone box library.

In a post published on their Facebook page, Hurstbourne Tarrant Parish Council called on the perpetrator to “find another outlet for your collection”.

“If whoever is doing so is reading this, please don’t keep leaving inappropriate books.

“The majority of visitors to the phone box are CHILDREN. And some of them are tall enough to reach the shelves where the books for grown ups are,” it reads.

The council went on to add that all books are removed from the library “as soon as they’re found”.

“We would ask that if anyone sees such books that they either remove them and put them in the bin next door or let us know asap,” they said.

Speaking to BBC News, council chairman Ian Kitson said the behaviour was “no laughing matter”.

“They know who it is in the village and they aren’t very well thought of,” he said.

As if the Handforth Parish Council drama wasn’t enough.

It sort of is though.

Also, if they know who is doing it why not have a word with him/her? Making a big deal out of it and treating it like it's newsworthy will probably make the persons day.

Depending on what they're into it could even make their hole weak ;)
