Okay so I'm a bit uncertain about what to do.

I'm after a new build and posted my spec not long ago, I've revised a few things and this is how it now stands, ideally I want to order within the next week or 2, definitely before the month is out. I've been putting it off waiting for stuff to come out for way too long now!

The main things I'm wondering are, have I picked the best DVD writer out, I want a SATA one, but I'm not sure what performance and more importantly reliability is like on them, I don't mind spending extra! (Btw I know I'm missing a fan for the cpu hs, but I'm getting fans seperately)

The biggest thing for me is graphics card, this has been a hard decision, let me explain my logic behind choosing the gtx, I know the 8800gt is out and is nearly as good for performance but: A) they are hard to get hold of, B) they have cooling problems, this is important to me because I am getting EVGA for the 90 day upgrade program and if I customise cooling on them I doubt they'd let me continue on the scheme.

So this brings me to my biggest question, if I was to go for an 8800gtx, would there likely be a better card to upgrade to with EVGA within the 90 day timeframe? If not, could I part exchange to upgrade to an ultra, and then get another 90 days to switch to the next card up?

If theres nothing better than a gtx/ultra coming out in the next 90 days and I'm not allowed to upgrade and then get an additional 90 days, I suppose I might as well get an 8800gt and change the cooling to get more bang for buck.

Sorry for the lengthy post, thanks in advance if anyone can help answer my questions.

SATA has better wires, higher bandwidth & are just as reliable as usually just different connectors.

Well there are words that new graphics cards expected in January which is within 90 days, but with both Nvidia & AMD/ATi being so secretive I guess we won't really know until it happens.

I haven't seen much on the 8800GT having heat problems however I have seen a fair reviews not use the fan anywhere near 100% neither but alas I have no proof... yet! ;) I am getting the 8800GT so I will get to see how it runs in temp myself soon enough.

The new 8800GTS and GTX (based on the new manufacturing process that brought us the 8800GT) are going to surface late December/early January according to most preliminary sources.

I'd personally either wait for the new GTS/GTX to surface, or get a stopgap card for the time being.
