Oktoberfest Beer Festival comes to Edinburgh

As thread title suggests

There's a beer festival happening in our capital and I was wondering if anyone else from here would be attending?

Would have considered going to the Glasgow event but I've already planned to go to the Paisley beer fest in September and the Glasgow whisky fest in November.

Can't help but feel this'll be overly commercial and expensive. Will probably head down to have a look if I'm still here though.

Will be going to the one in Dundee. Been the last few years, its getting bigger/more commercial but still a good variety of drinks and good bands.

Our Oktoberfest beer is brewed in Germany according to the German purity law and has strength of approx. 5.0% by volume - a lager beer you will love. It get´s brewed only for us and is called the Edinburgh Oktoberfest beer so you can´t buy it in any shop and we bring it over in a very big tank which assures it is fresh and ready to be drunken

Hmm. At 5.0% doesn't sound very Oktoberfest.

I'm sure there will be many others available to sample as well

We'll be heading over on the Wed morning (9th) and meeting a few mates there too. I've never been to anything like this before but I'm sure it'll be a good day.

Possibly, but doubt they will be Oktoberfest brews, you can't normally get then until September/October time as the breweries start producing them specifically for Oktoberfest.

Yeah I'm being pedantic but to me I don't see how you can call something a mini Oktoberfest if your beer isn't meeting the same standard as that of the real thing.
