Hi guys!

Im inheriting my dads old 528i BMW next weekend... Its not just any old one though, it has had some quite extensive work done to the engine and suspension components.

Its on a OLD 'Y' reg, so that would make it a 1981? *not sure*

Anyway, is there a owners club or something for these type of vehicles? Im planning on cleaning it up and selling it in the near future to make some money on it... (Not much i guess lol)

Or should i just ebay it? :)

Thanks guys! :)

As in the last letter of the reg is Y?

If so, 1983 and an E28.

If it's an '81, it would be an E12 and rather tasty...

An e12 would indeed be interesting.

The E12 5-series used a Behr air conditioner that was notorious for being too weak for American temperatures. A well-known legend is that, in an attempt to convince BMW that a better air conditioner was needed, two BMW engineers were treated to a long trip to Texas in the rear seat of a black BMW 530i with the power windows disabled.

heh :D

hehe na its a E28.

Interesting read though on Wikipedia. Cheers :)

Fine cars in their day, much better than the e12.

You'll get buttons for it, I'd be inclined to keep it & have some fun. :)
