Old beta clients have expired

Both the SMP and GPU clients expired as of midnight. You'll need to download new versions from the usual places.

Fixes for the GPU client:

-- Later expiry (Feb 1st)
-- Allows X16xx, X18xx, X19xx cards & All In Wonder.

Fixes for the SMP client:

-- Later expiry (Feb 1st)
-- The localhost IP address is now hardcoded.
-- The client will force upload of results packets >5 MB (some results packets >>100 MB may still not upload)

These are, or will soon be, on the download pages.

I also note that most of the ATI X1xxx series is now supported. I bet it still won't work with AGP though (I have an X1800 that I could shove in and use, but it's AGP).

thats the news i've been wasting for, blow the dust of my X1800xt and lets try to boost my production. :D

And not wanting to question the mighty don, i didn't think they released an X1800 on AGP, i know they did X800 and X1600 and soon to be released X1950 on AGP???

doh - forgot that the GPU client is still technically in beta :o :p

well mine's still running as it's not had to stop yet - will wait till its finished the current WU anyway :)

edit: Berserker it should work with an AGP card if that's what you have, may take some messing around with different drivers but there was at least one person using his AGP X1650 Pro with the previous client.
Certainly worth spending a little time on

I might see if it'll fit in the Xeon box then. Don't mind wasting a core there as it's not particularly quick anyway.

Oh, and I think I lost a WU on the SMP client. 250MB result file. Don't think that'll upload (even with the fixed client).

Fiddlesticks!

I lost two SMP result files, as well (well, one completed and one at 96%) :(. Bah.

Got the GPU client up and running on my x1800

Time will tell if it beats the C2D core?

tbh I'm glad of something to get interested in again after such a load of rubbish wu's.

Better get reading the gpu overclocking thread.

Wondered why I couldn't get my GPU client to restart. That really messed with my head - shouldn't play computers when you've had a few drinks :(

my x1800xt did its first WU yesterday, averaged about 17mins per frame. slow compared to x1900's but still get ~280 ppd which is much more than the cpu was getting.

I think I'm using a beta client on a fair few machines and its not given me any probs - do I need to upgrade them?
Mine stopped being able to send results back to the server. New WUs aren't sent out to them too, I think.
