If anyone remembers the old sound problem with Bioshock on Vista, you know, where the sound is OK in the intro up until the game actually starts, then it cuts out:

Can someone please remind me of how it was fixed? Something in the system settings, but firstly I can't remember any more, and secondly that was with Vista, and now it's happening again on Windows 7.

Some people report playing in XP mode fixes it. I had the problem in Vista and solved it with something in the sound control panel in Windows, but on 7 now and it's different. I suggest googling "Bioshock sound issues" and taking the top link to the offical thread.

I think you need to goto sound in control panel then select the recording tab and then enable stereo mix.

This.

Though ever since I did this I have had my PC uninstall my TV speakers (HDMI Connection) and have had to reinstall the ATI HDMI realtek drivers every few weeks lol
