old blizzard games (starcraft, WC3 etc)

these games required a valid cd key to connect to battlenet, but were they one time use codes, then tied to an account?
im wondering if theres any point in buying used copies of SC1 and the WC3 set from ebay

I wouldn't bother risking it, they are both cheap anyway and definitely worth more than they are now.

I think the key is tied to the battlenet account. Buying 2nd hand would give you the full game, but you would only be able to play lan.

Warcraft 3 is tied to Battle.net now, along with WoW and SC2.

Not sure about the older ones.

If they've been use recently they'd have had to be tied to an account. Back in the day, they were just used to install the game, then connect to bnet, and weren't tied at all. My D2 key's been used by several people in the past but is now tied to my account under the new method.
