OK, been racking my brains on this one. An old friend of my dad's used to have a board game that was to do with oil, I can't quite understand why, but I loved it but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I've had a search on Google and I can't find anything that looks familiar.

I think the game began with a "G" but not sure, to make it more confusing I had the game for the C64 aswell but it had a different name (maybe that began with a "G").

Anyway, anybody got any ideas what it was?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong section, mod please move if you think it belongs elsewhere.)

I used to play an old one called mine a million, pretty sure that was to do with oil.

Edit: Turns out it was mining gold.

Wasn't Oil barons,
Wasn't Go for Broke

Might be Game of nations.... looking into it.

I wish I could remember more about the game, I have very vague memories of it.

Edit: Nope wasn't Game of nations.
Mine a Millions looks very familiar though. Need to find out if that was ever a C64 game beginning with "G".

I had Game of Nations.

It was all about Oil, and taking over countries, building pipelines and tankers to get your oil out. It had little plastic ships, pipelines, and something that looked like a fist holding a scroll to signify that you controlled the country. The board was a map of the world split into regions a la risk.

I think the C64 version of the game was called "gusher". Can't find much on it though so its leading me nowhere. :(

It was definitely Gusher for the c64, strangely enough it wasn't Gusher for the board game - but Mine a Million looks close.

Good find on the C64 mate !!!!

Wonder if I can find it on emulation !
