lol id still rather spend a few pounds on small upgrades
maybe ram...i just got rid of my 35gb rapture HD so il need a new windows HD
maybe OC my cpu to 2.7-2.8 ghz..(never done anything like this tho)
and maybe buy anouther 7800GT

but i dono if its worth doin all that

i would like to build a new computer soon...maybe xmas...
but i dono how much i would need to spend for a decent comp...
mostly gonna be used for music production..photoshop..games abit

maybe il make a new thread asking for spec recomendations for 400-500 pounds

How about upgrading the Mobo / CPU / Ram and just adding the old bits to the new bits ?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 7850+ Black Edition 2.80GHz (Socket AM2+) - Retail £49.99
Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P nForce 430 (Socket AM2/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £35.98
OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Series (OCZ2P800R22GK) £19.99

comes to £116.02 with postage, shame you dont have enough posts for free postage. would be £108.

Maybe try sell current mobo, CPU & RAM & add on top of the £100. For around £170 you could get...
  • Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 AMD 770 (Socket AM3/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £60.98
  • AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 250 3.00GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail £59.00
  • Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel (TWIN2X4096-8500C5C) £37.00
  • Sub Total : £136.50
  • Shipping : £9.50
  • VAT : £21.90
  • Total : £167.90
;)

thx so much...i think i will do 1 of those 2...prob sell the mobo cpu and ram if i can...dono how much they will be worth...(would ebay be good place to sell?) (and as a package? or separate sales?)..

how much posts is free postage?
my friend told me about this site recently so im new but its really a great site :D

wat would a good hard drive for windows be? or will any be fine?..
i remember getting a 35gb rapture because it was supposed to be better for windows (god it was so loud)...donno if it really made a difference tho

i didnt know a new mobo would be so important and expensive...
btw how much better will this new spec be? 30% better? 50%?

Probably get more if sell separate.

How much better? Is that a single core CPU? But considering you only had 1GB RAM, improvement will be significant.
