Hi. I'm in search of a charger for my 3rd gen iPod. Found in a drawer but can't find the charger.
I think it needs a 'fire wire' charger, which I can find loads of wire on line but no mains plug.
Any ideas where to get one from?

I believe that the Apple 30-pin to USB Cable should work just fine. Also you don't really a mains plug, as it can just be charged from your PC socket, or whichever other mains plug you have will do just fine.

It won't unfortunately - the 3rd Gen requires Firewire. It can sync via USB but not charge from it.

You can charge the iPod from a computer with a 6-pin powered Firewire port. Unsure where you'd find a replacement genuine charger outside of eBay.

I might have one, if I do, you're welcome to it. Drop me a trust message to remind me and I'll have a look this evening.

I didn't get a message but I have looked and it's not where I thought it was - I did have a clear out a few months ago so I reckon I binned it, sorry.
