i used to run diablo 2 on my old computer made by tiny :rolleyes:

and it ran fine on that that had a 450 mhz cpu and a 16 mb graphics card not too sure on ram but it wasnt good and it ran fine on that so that computer would easily play it

Anachronox and Grandia 2 are both games that will run on that spec and are very Final Fantasy-ish.

I was going to mention this one too.
And if they like Final Fantasy style RPGs then I think they'll probably like this too.
I played it on the Dreamcast though, so I can't say how well the PC version performs, or how well it plays on the keyboard & mouse. But seeing as it's quite cheap now, it's worth checking out.

I think thats only if the pub/dev dont exist any more.
