Sorry if the tittle is a bit crappy.

Basically, I'm playing around with my aging PhenomII system. Years ago in the DDR2 PhenomII days of AMD you could not run 4xXgb sticks at pc2-8500 or with both channels populated if you want to look at it like that. Anyway OCZ had some pc2-8500 platinum that could run at it's advertized 5-5-5 timings but only by manually setting some other timings higher.

Does anyone have a reference to these, as I can't find them anywhere, they where on the OCZ forums but I think they were taken down years ago? I'm probably using moronic search terms.

Cheers in advance if anyone can help :)

Might be worth checking if you have the latest bios for the motherboard, to help memory compatibility. ~4 weeks ago, I finally decided to switch this hybrid motherboard from Corsair pc-8000 2x2GB DDR2 (that I could overclock to 1000MHz) to 4x2GB Corsair pc-12800 DDR3.

Initially, I was pretty stressed, because the new memory would not boot, kept getting the "3 beeps" error. But then I discovered I missed a final bios release from 2011, installed it and instantly I could boot up at default 333 FSB speeds (1333MHz for the mem). With a few bios tweaks (few clicks on mem voltage and northbridge voltage), I can now run my Q9300 back at what has been the normal overclock to 400 FSB (1600MHz for the mem).

there is actually a bios update for mine, will look into that more although winflash won't flash this bios and ez flash is also like "no no go away", i think it's corrupt or something. not the mobo in sig if anyone is wondering but a m4m79 deluxe replacement.

The timings I need aren't anything to do with the bios mind, they are a manual fix from OCZ to get around the Phenom 2 not liking 2 sticks of ddr2 pc8500 at the 5-5-5-15 timings.
