Old dell system

Hi,

Got an old dell pre-built system, quad core, 4 gig RAM etc etc.

Looking at grabbing a pair of monitors for it instead of my usual one and would need to update the graphics card.

I currently have a ATI graphics card in there, but would need to update that to allow for 2 27" 1080p monitors. What things to I need to consider for compatibility. Size, max speed etc or will any graphics card work?

Looking for the best graphics card for this with a budget of £150. What do you experts suggest? I do a little bit of gaming but nothing major.

Regards,

Stuart

I would suggest chucking the dell in the bin and starting again :D

The problem with those dell machines is that the power supplies are usually only low power and may not have the 6/8 pin connectors on them or have enough power on the 12v rails for a decent graphics card.

What is your current ati graphics card model?
What power supply is in your pc?

I believe it is in the 4000 series but can't check till I am home.

The PSU has been upgraded as I have had to add HD's and SSD's in the past. PSU is 650W instead of 350/400
