Hi

Got an old Acer tower that I want to get rid of (throw away) but I think it has personal information on it still.

Is it a case of just removing the hdd to be sure. I wasn't planning on selling it as its not worth while but I don't want to just throw it knowing it may have personal data still on it.

What procedure should I take, without the need of burn it with fire?

Thanks

When I'm getting rid of old PCs, I take the hard drive out, put a HSS drill bit thru it (wear goggles, steel flakes are sharp) a couple of times then smack it with a hammer.

Bit of wanton destruction is always fun.
