Old games on Steam

Anyone bought these? Say the XCOM series or the Id super pack and the like? I ask because these games obviously don't work flawlessly in the original forms on modern hardware, do the Steam versions have some sort of update so they run well on modern hardware or are you having to get lucky?

Sorry, that wasnt the most helpful post in the world. Nobody in that thread has posted any problems, and with steam as it is I doubt they would have marketed it on there if it wasnt compatible with 99% of the people using it!

So they have modified the games to work, I gather - as soon as my new card gets here, you'll be responsible for a loss of money on my account

The ID pack works fine for me on Vista 64.

I bought the XCOM pack on the weekend. They are modified to run flawlessly in windows. None of the old DOS xMS EMS disks anymore

Have been playing Xcom enemy unknown for about 10 hours and no problems. The menus are the same as the original and the exit program button says "exit to dos" which always makes my smile.

Right need to get back to xcom, have just researched my first alien weapon and time to shoot some of the critters with their own technology
