Help.... asking everyone at work about a game i remeber playing but not the name, old age i guess.

Its a GOD type game, where you scroll along the screen, raising and lowering the land to make ponds and moutains to make it easier for your little people to be happy. The happier they are the more they pray and the more power you get.

It was before Black and White, before settlers ect.. but i cant rember the name...

any ideas?

I think it's abandonware now.

I certainly remember downloading it from a website and running it on XP (With modern resolutions too).

Great game! Have been a fan since the very first one - infact I think the first one was so good because it was so simple.

Prob is I threw the disks away by accident ! :( Now I can no longer play them.

YEAH!

cheers, been trying to remeber that name for 2 hours lol.....

Think ill go see if i still have it somewhere or if not, maybe even buy it lol... wasted a lot of hours playing that game, but man, it was good as i thik it was the 1st of its kind, not sure though, still bloody good though!

Cheers AndyPants, cyber beer on its way to you :)

It was the first of its kind, and if i remember rightly, was the first game to have 'mana'. Pretty much every fantasy game of every kind has taken that from it :D

I don't think you would be right there :) Dungeon Master for one example. Way before populous.

Is Populous: The Beginning as good as Pop2?

Nope. Pop2 wss superb. I remember a friend and I playing this head-to-head over a null modem cable on our Amigas.

Not sure about that. According to archived reviews in Zzap magazine (remember that, lol?), Pop was first...
