Old laptop freezing after 30-40 minutes

Using an old Dell laptop to run some presentation software. Now freezes 30-40 minutes after switching on. Works after a reboot. What do you reckon?

Faulty RAM?
CPU overheating?
Something else?

Had the same problem as your are having. Turns out one of my DIMM slots has burnt out.

I suggest taking out the RAM, and trying it in a different slot, if you can, try different (but compatible) RAM aswell.

I think that is overheating
could you open it up and clean all the fans?

I suggess opening it up and giving it a good clean, sounds like overheating to me.
Though faulty ram could also give you that problem, download an iso image of memtest(or a linux live disc) and run it and see what it finds.

Wouldn't have thought it was overheating, otherwise the problem would reoccur very quickly after rebooting.
