Maybe someone can shed some light?

I have signed up for Be unlimited broadband, i will receive a Be box soon and as this has wireless capabilities i was wondering if i could use an old Tosh Tecra 8000 on it? Its a Pentium 2 300mhz and has a pcmcia slot.

Question is which is best to go for a pcmcia card or usb wireless adapter?

Whats the range like on either of these things and what can i expect problem wise on networking a win98 laptop to an xp network?

Some pcmcia cards offer extended range? is this do able on the old lappy?

Anyhows anyone using such old tat nowadays?

Thanks
Sedj

You need to make sure that a PCMCIA card is compatible with the slot, I had a old machine of that era that wasn't busmaster or something. I can't remember exactly, but it wasn't working.

If the USB will work, I'd go for that, can you borrow someone elses to try?

As for what you can do with it, best thing for something that slow would be a dumb terminal. Use it to remote desktop into a machine that's more powerful like your desktop or something.
