Firstly I apologise if there is a thread around here about this but...

What should I do with my old laptop? Its broken (gpu is gone) and its pretty old, about 7 years me thinks. But Its just taking up space uselessly and I wondered whats the best way to get rid of it? I realise I shouldnt just throw it out, so the dump? or there some sort of "old mobile" style recycling jazz you can do with laptops?

Alternatively if anyone wants an old laptop.... lol

including the battery, i'd say ring your local council, they should provide services for the removal of non standard rubbish ;)

Cripes, that doesn't make life easy. Unless there are stickers on the palmrest, you'll have to take the keyboard off.

Once you've removed that, you'll be able to see the RAM, CPU and GPU. If it can't get it to switch on I can't see any other way of doing it.

If you might not turn a worthwhile profit after fees/postage/scammers, then you could also consider offering it free for local collection via Freegle/Freecycle.

Found a far easier way, just typed the laptop name/code into google, I really should have thought of that earlier lol

Yes, that's one way of going about it, but some laptops come with different options, so you don't want to advertise it having some CPU, RAM or GPU it doesn't actually have if you're selling it.
