Old man's gaming pc upgrade

Hello, just looking for advice on recommended upgrade for my old man's pc.
He's a CoD fan and wants to play the latest instalment with decent FPS.
Pc is
GIGABYTE Z270xp-SLI mb
[email protected] ---keep
Gtx970 ---change to 1660s/ti
8gb @ 2133 ---change to 16gb @3200

He plays on a AoC 2560 x 1440 monitor.

What brand of upgrade would you recommend. He won't be overclocking anything.

60Hz monitor? Are you upgrading now or when stock is available again? If you're waiting, I'd suggest future proofing with a 5600x and a 3060ti or a 6700.

If you're buying now, a 5700 xt or a 2070 Super. That i5 won't age well, so I'd suggest dropping in an 8 core from the same gen.

What's your budget?
 
Hi

A 1660 super is 50 % faster than a gtx 970 so that gives you some ides of fps. 16gb of 3200mhz ram will help better teamgroup are cheap.

Does he have an ssd ?
