Ok, bit of a noob when it comes to video editing so heres what I am looking at doing.

I have a rather old (must be at lest 6 years) Sony video camera and I want to pull all the tapes togather and digitise them, carry out a little bit of editing and maybe archive onto DVD.

I have heard one or two programs talked about but I don't want something that costs more than £60-80.

Pinnacle studio Plus 11 seems to be in the price range but it doesn't mention Vista 64 bit compatability.
It does say Vista 32 Bit recommended ??

Are there any other progs that will do what I want and that are easy and intuitive ?

try dvd flick, it's free

oops, skim read it. dvd flick can't edit

windows movie maker isn't terrible....

I never liked anything from the "windows media" range.
I guess as its already installed I could give it a bash....open it from the media centre ?

i never edit videos as such, i just cut bits off and maybe add shading, i use virtualdub for that, it's all filter based though, but a handy tool to learn

Vista doesn't recognise my camcorder, I can't find the driver for it either on the web...Pinnacle studio Plus 11 here I come I guess :/
