Greetings,

I just downloaded the Battlefield 3 demo onto my (4+ years) old PC. Surprisingly it runs well, however I am stuck with a dodgy XFX 4850 that throws up grey lines and crashes in most modern shooters (common problem judging by google).

Question is, if I change to the refurbed 9800 GTX that OCUK sell, will it work on my pretty oldschool Motherboard (Asrock conroexfire-esata2)

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?model=conroexfire-esata2

the 9800 series isn't on the VGA support list, but I doubt its been changed since 2006!

Are there any major reasons why it shouldn't work?

Tried for a long time to update my sister's PC to a better GFX card(same mobo as you) , best success was with a 4850 using old drivers but still was flakey in some games.
If it is not on the list then it is very hit or miss if it will work properly
